This file contains a summary of service utilization by ASC supplier and is derived from 2008 ASC line item level data, updated through March 2009, that is, line items for services furnished on or after January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008 that were received, processed, paid, and passed to the National Claims History file by March 31, 2009. This file contains data for ASC services billed in 2008 that were eligible to receive payment under the previous ASC payment system, including services that were added under the revised ASC payment system. We revised CY 2008 HCPCS (where appropriate) to reflect their CY 2009 status and description using an internal CY 2008 to CY 2009 crosswalk file. This file includes 683,520 records summarized first at the supplier level and then at the HCPCS level. This is a flat file that is available on DVD. This file will be available twice a year. The file for the proposed rule for the annual OPPS/ASC update should be available by late spring/early summer, and the file for the final rule should be ready for release within a month of publication of the final rule.
