Social Security

Social Security is a benefit paid monthly. Your clients who are homeless may be eligible to receive the benefits if they have paid Social Security taxes and have worked for at least 10 years.

Benefits Your Client May Receive

When your clients applies for Social Security, they will receive a monthly benefit based on what they earned. Family members such as children, may also qualify on the client's record.

If your client has reached full retirement age (65 and two months in 2003), he/she may be able to receive full benefits; however, he/she also may begin receiving reduced benefits as early as age 62.
