If Your Client is an Immigrant

Lawfully admitted aliens, 65 years or older, with intent to continue living in the U.S. are eligible to PURCHASE Medicare. They can also qualify if their spouse is an eligible Medicare beneficiary.

He/she may purchase Medicare Part B, or Part A and Part B, on a premium paying basis under the Medicare program.

The purchase of Medicare Part A can only be made in combination with the purchase of Part B of Medicare. The Part A premium amount for 2003 is $316.00 a month and the Part B premium amount for 2003 is $58.70 a month.
