International Classification of Diseases, 9th revision, Clinical Modification ICD-9-CM Volumes 1 & 2 (diagnosis codes) are maintained by the National Center for Health Statistics, Centers for Disease Control (CDC) within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). 5. International Classification of Diseases, 10th revision, Clinical Modification ICD-10-CM is the new diagnosis coding system that was developed as a replacement for ICD-9-CM, Volume 1 & 2.
