2008 Part D Information for State Policymakers:  In the fall of 2008, CMS is releasing a series of "background" papers for state policymakers on Part D issues.  Below you can access the the series as they become available.

{13} Information for State and Local Government Officials:  MyHealth.MyMedicare:  This document is intended to help government officials learn more about the MyHeatlh.MyMedicare campaign, flu shots, enrollment in Part D, web enhancements, the Medicare & You 2007 handbook, redeeming and reassignment.  

2007 Part D Information for State Policymakers:  In the fall of 2007, CMS released a series of "background" papers for state policymakers on Part D issues.  Below you can access the the series:

  • {12} Part 2 of Series:  "Re-assignment of Beneficiaries Who Have the Low Income Subsidy"
  • {11} Part 1 of Series:  "Re-determining Eligibility for People Who Qualify for the Low-Income Subsidy Automatically

{10}State Medicare Part D Enrollment Profiles by Congressional District  Attached are two state-level summary charts reflecting Part D enrollment as of June 11, 2006 by Congressional district.  The first chart shows the number of beneficiaries with prescription drug coverage and the breakdown of coverage from Medicare or former employers as of June 11, 2006 by Congressional district.  The second chart shows the Part D enrollment percentage increase from Jan 21 until June 11, 2006 by Congressional district.  Please note that these data do not include individuals with other creditable coverage, such as through the Veteran's Administration, Indian Health Service, current employers for active workers with Medicare Secondary Payer, and other retiree coverage and State Pharmaceutical Assistance Programs.  For these groups of people, the information is not available by congressional district.  The statewide average percentage of those with other creditable coverage is noted in a footnote on each individual state table.

{7}Information for State & Local Government Officials: Providing Information for Dual Eligibles and their Caregivers about the New Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit  This publication is intended to provide targeted information to people who assist individuals with both Medicare and Medicaid (government officials, advocates, caseworkers, etc), who will play an important role in helping people get information about the new prescription drug coverage. This resource guide provides information they need to help their constituents, colleagues and others better understand the new Medicare prescription drug coverage.
