The Final 2009 Part C Medicare Advantage Master Application was released on January 22, 2008 and is due on March 10, 2008. The 2009 Part C Medicare Advantage Master Application includes: the Initial Application for Coordinated Care Plans (CCP), Private Fee for Service Plans (PFFS), Regional Preferred Provider Plans (RPPO), and Medical Savings Account Plans (MSA) and the Service Area Expansion Application (SAE) for Coordinated Care Plans (CCP) and Private Fee for Service Plans (PFFS). Important Reminders: - CMS will not accept hardcopy submissions of the Master Application
- MAOs renewing their participation in Medicare Advantage should access the "Guidance for Organizations Renewing Their Medicare Participation" download below
- Applicants submitting Initial and/or Service Area Expansion applications for Coordinated Care Plans and Regional Preferred Provider Plans MUST offer Part D Prescription Drug Benefits and therefore MUST timely submit a Medicare Advantage-Prescription Drug Plan Sponsor application to offer Part D Prescription Drug benefits. (You SHOULD access an application and related material by selecting the "Prescription Drug Coverage Contracting" link below)
- Applicants submitting Initial and/or Service Area Expansion applications for Private Fee for Service Plans who choose to offer Part D Prescription Drug Benefits should timely submit a Medicare Advantage-Prescription Drug Plan Sponsor application to offer Part D Prescription Drug benefits. (You may access an application and related material by selecting the "Prescription Drug Coverage Contracting" link below)
- Consistent with current law and regulations, CMS will NOT accept Initial Cost contract applications. Entities with Cost Contracts that are open for enrollment may not operate Medicare Advantage products with a service area that overlaps the service area of the Cost Contract.
