Background CMS has approved Alaska’s section 1115 demonstration proposal for a 5-year period as project No. 21-W-00016/10. This demonstration provides the State the authority to maintain a 12-month period of uninsurance for applicants whose income exceeds 150 percent of FPL but does not exceed 175 percent of 2003 FPL. Eligibility The 12-month period of uninsurance will only apply to applicants enrolled in the SCHIP Medicaid expansion program whose income exceeds 150 percent of FPL but does not exceed 175 percent of 2003 FPL. Benefit Package Alaska’s section 1115 demonstration provides coverage that is the same as the Medicaid package. Health Services Delivery System Alaska has a fee-for service health care delivery system with no care management requirements imposed by the Medicaid agency. Care is delivered in a variety of way to serve its ethnically diverse and geographically scattered population. The Division of Medical Assistance in the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services administers the program. Cost Sharing There is no cost sharing.
