This section is intended as a guide to assist users with the IACS registration process for the HETS UI application. The detailed guides are available from the IACS Website under "Related Links Inside CMS". IACS Registration The User Roles for the HETS UI application are defined as follows: Security Official – The official of a provider's office or organization who registers with IACS as that organization's Security Official. This person also registers the facility or organization with IACS using an online version of the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) form. There can be two Security Officials at a facility or organization – a primary and a backup. Users in this role also approve the "User/Approver(s)" for their organization. This role, however, cannot be an actual end user of the application; the end user being the person that requires access to a CMS application to perform assigned work tasks interacting with the application. User/Approver – Users in this role approve end user requests for access to the HETS UI Application. This role is also known as an External Point of Contact (EPOC) and performs the function of approving user access to CMS applications but cannot be an actual end user of the application; the end user being the person that requires access to a CMS application to perform assigned work tasks interacting with the application. User/Provider – The end-user of the HETS UI application. If you have questions about the roles described above, please contact the Help Desk on the Contact Us page for guidance. Online Training Optional Computer Based Training (CBT) is available to instruct new users on how to access and complete the New User Registration form. The online training material covers information contained in the User Guides. There is also CBT training for additional IACS procedures and a CBT available for disabled personnel. Each training module consists of a simulated walk-through of a relevant IACS task supplemented by an interactive online User Guide. The CBT simulations "walk" the learner through the "most common" task or process the user will encounter. There are no user tests associated with any of the modules. The "Accessible CBT" option takes the user to a screen with a similar list of training modules however these particular modules are especially designed for disabled individuals. Future CBT and online documentation will be developed as needed and posted to allow users access prior to the roll out of a new release. To access the IACS CBT, click on the IACS CBT Training link located under "Related Links Inside CMS" and then click on "Computer Based Training for Account Management". This will take you to the online training tutorials main page where you can select the type of training that you require. For assistance with acronyms and glossary of terms, please see the Acronyms link located under "Related Links Inside CMS". If you require additional assistance, please contact the Help Desk on the Contact Us page.
