New! 2009 E-Prescribing Incentive Program Web-based Training Course The 2009 E-Prescribing Incentive Program web-based training (WBT) course provides information to eligible professionals and medical administrative staff on the completion, submission and maintenance of the documentation required to successfully participate in the E-Prescribing Incentive Program. The course offers continuing education credits. The course can be accessed through the "Related Links Inside CMS" section below. Once on the MLN page of the CMS website, scroll down to the "Related Links Inside CMS" section and select "Web Based Training (WBT) Modules." Once on the web-based training module page, select the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative and Electronic Prescribing Incentive Program WBT from the list provided. MLN Matters Article – Coding and Reporting Principles for the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) and the Electronic Prescribing (E-Prescribing) Incentive Program. This MLN Matters Article provides a high level overview of the coding and reporting principles for the claims-based reporting of quality measures data for the 2009 PQRI, and for the claims-based reporting of the E-Prescribing measure for the 2009 E-Prescribing Incentive Program. An "Introduction to the Electronic Prescribing Incentive Fact Sheet – Spanish Version" is also available in the "Downloads" section below. 2009 Electronic Prescribing (E-Prescribing) Incentive Program Made Simple Fact Sheet. This Fact Sheet, which is available in the "Downloads" section below, is a step-by-step guide, to help eligible professionals: 1) determine their eligibility to participate in the e-prescribing incentive program, and 2) walks an eligible professional through the e-prescribing process. Additionally, an "E-Prescribing Made Simple Quick Reference Chart" is also available to assist eligible professionals. This reference chart is available in the "Downloads" section below. Medicare's Practical Guide to the E-Prescribing Incentive Program. This guide, which is available in the "Related Links Inside CMS" section below, contains additional information on the E-Prescribing Incentive Program. Continuing Education In October 2008, CMS and 34 partner organizations hosted a meeting about the mechanics of implementing an e-prescribing program in a practice. Audiotapes and slides are now archived online for continuing education credit. Click on the Massachusetts Medical Society link under the "Related Links Outside CMS" section below to view the presentations and hear the audiotapes of the program. There are no registration or certificate fees.
