Group Practice Reporting Option (GPRO) Requirements for Submission of 2010 eRx Data (11-18-09)

While participation in the eRx Incentive Program (either as an individual eligible professional or under the eRx GPRO) is voluntary for group practices participating in the PQRI GPRO, CMS requires that in order for a group practice to participate in the 2010 eRx GPRO, a group practice must comply with all requirements for participation in the PQRI GPRO and be participating in the PQRI GPRO for 2010. A group practice that wishes to participate in both the PQRI GPRO and in the eRx GPRO, must notify CMS of its desire to do so when self-nominating for the 2010 PQRI GPRO. 2010 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) Final Rule (11-10-09)

The 2010 Electronic Prescribing Incentive Program, including the criteria that CMS will use to determine what eligible professionals the electronic prescribing incentive applies to and how "successful electronic Prescriber" will be defined for 2010, was finalized in the 2010 PFS final rule with comment period. Registry Requirements for Submission of 2010 PQRI Data on Behalf of Eligible Professionals (11-10-09)

To qualify to submit electronic prescribing measure data on behalf of eligible professionals seeking electronic prescribing incentive payments for 2010, registries must be qualified to submit 2010 PQRI data on behalf of eligible professionals. This document, which can be found by clicking on the "Alternative Reporting Mechanisms" link to the left, describes the requirements that a registry must meet to qualify to submit PQRI data on behalf of eligible professionals for the 2010 PQRI. Any registry that wants to report the electronic prescribing measure for the 2010 Electronic Prescribing Incentive Program also will have to follow the requirements contained in this document.
