Section 4018 of The Balanced Budget Act of 1997 authorizes a demonstration to evaluate the use of a third-party contractor to conduct Medicare Advantage plan enrollment and disenrollment functions. The goals of the demonstration are to promote better informed choices by Medicare beneficiaries and reduce or eliminate marketing abuses and fraudulent enrollments. |
