Round 1 Product Category Information Round 1 of the competitive bidding program, includes 10 of the top DMEPOS product categories that were selected based on criteria outlined in the Final Rule. One exception is the product category for support surfaces, which is being phased in at one CBA as part of the first round of competitive bidding. The complete list of product categories can be found in the "Download" section below. A listing of the Round 1 items contained in each product category and the associated Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes are available on the CBIC website found in the "Related Links Outside CMS" section below. The new payment amounts set as a result of Round 1 of the competitive bidding program will be effective July 1, 2008. Round 2 Product Category Information Payment amounts for Round 2 includes only 8 DMEPOS product categories. These product categories were selected based on criteria outlined in the Final Rule. For a list of the Round 2 DMEPOS product categories, see the "Round 2 Product Categories" in the "Downloads" section below. A listing of the Round 2 items contained in each product category will be announced in the next few months.
